July 2011
NIST/Alliance Grant Update
Congratulations to the 21 state and local Alliance members that area participating in the NIST/Alliance Grant program.
In phase 1, all 21 programs have submitted an application at one of four levels, from Level 1, which is an Organizational Profile with mandated results, all the way to Level 4, which is a full Baldrige application. Over half have received their feedback reports with the rest due back in July.
Phase 2, the improvement phase, has just begun. In this phase each program will submit an improvement plan based on its feedback report and the goals of the grant. These will be submitted by the end of August and reviewed by an Advisory Board so the programs can begin addressing their opportunities.
This program would not be possible without the service of the examiners who were provided by the 21 programs. Sixty examiners volunteered to serve in the evaluation process to help another state or local Baldrige program improve.
The program is being administered by a sub-group of the Alliance Financial Resources Team. Stay tuned for additional updates throughout the grant.
